07-08-2023Allegorical boats and fireworks: Ferragosto on Lake Como
There are only a few days left for the 77th edition of this magnificent celebration which, eagerly awaited by young and old, turns out to be one of the most longed-for events of the year.
On 14 August Gravedona ed Uniti recalls the victory of its citizens, and of the islanders, over Barbarossa; it does so with the evocative parade of illuminated allegorical boats that animates the lakefront of the beautiful town in the Alto Lario every year.
During the festival, the various districts of the town challenge each other by building allegorical boats and parading for the visitors, gathering applause and approval from all.
For the occasion in the squares there will be music, games for children, restaurants with typical foods and street food. To conclude the celebrations, there will be one of the most evocative fireworks displays on Lake Como.
From Piccolo Camping it is possible to get to Gravedona ed Uniti by public transport or on foot, thanks to the cycle/pedestrian road that connects the two villages.
