September is the perfect month to immerse yourself in nature and look for the delicious mushrooms that grow in the woods and meadows of the area.
Mushroom picking, as well as being a fun activity, provides the opportunity to come into contact with nature and collect fresh ingredients for delicious culinary preparations.
Domaso, located on the shores of Lake Como, offers a variety of natural environments perfect for mushroom picking among woods and small valleys. It will be enough to enter the forests of the small Italian village to start the harvest. Near Domaso instead there is Valtellina, another hotspot for mushroom picking thanks to its ideal climatic conditions.
In these areas, you can find a wide range of edible mushrooms including porcini, honey mushrooms, chanterelles and many other delicious varieties. However, it is important to know that mushroom harvesting requires in-depth knowledge of the species and their characteristics, as some varieties can be poisonous.
